About the JobSummary:The Interdisciplinary Center for the Study of Global Change (ICGC) is a campus-wide center that seeks to foster an interdisciplinary and cross-cultural community of faculty and students committed to supporting and advancing research, education, and collaborative initiatives related to global change, with a focus on the Global South. The Director provides leadership of the day-to-day operations and the strategic direction of the center.Responsibilities:Academic Leadership and Strategy (60%)-Direct campus-wide interdisciplinary research and graduate education center focused on global social justice issues-Provide leadership to core academic programs -Co-direct, in collaboration with Humphrey School of Public affairs, the intercollegiate Master of Development Practice degree program -Direct the Development Studies and Social Change graduate minor program-Oversee teaching and curriculum development and visiting scholars-Create, lead, and implement ICGC Scholars fellowship program and other related small grants programs-Lead international graduate education and faculty research collaborations (e.g., with University of the Western Cape)-Lead strategic planning and evaluation of program activities-Conduct research and analysis-Chair the ICGC Faculty Advisory Committee-Co-Chair the Master of Development Practice Program Committee-Develop and foster strategic collaborations and connections with internal and external partners and stakeholders (GPS Alliance leadership and staff, senior University leadership, faculty, graduate assistants, current and prospective students, visiting scholars and fellows, partner organization leadership)-Advise and mentor graduate students participating in the programs (including serving as academic advisor for some MDP students)-Serve on doctoral committees of ICGC Scholars representing the DSSC graduate minor field as requested-Develop curriculum and teach courses in the Development Studies and Social Change graduate minor programTalent, Fiscal, and Operational Leadership (40%)-Oversee the talent strategy of centers administrative, academic, and graduate student staff-Set a progressive equity, diversity, and inclusion strategy and evaluation-Establish an inclusive and supportive work culture, setting clear expectations-Manage fiscal resources and staff to establish clear performance standards-Budget development, management and oversight-Fundraising through internal and external partnerships and grant proposals-Develop and implement strategic plans for financial sustainability including revenue generation-Provide strategic direction for the full life-cycle of the student experience-Represent ICGC and/or the Global Programs and Strategy Alliance at national and international forums and conferences, on-campus events, serve on relevant task forces and committees at the discretion of the Vice ProvostQualificationsRequired Qualifications:-Doctoral degree in relevant field + at least 8 years of related experience-Significant academic record of publications, conference presentations and speaking engagements, and/or academic leadership roles-Experience teaching in a higher education setting-Demonstrated commitment to interdisciplinary research including experience collaborating with interdisciplinary faculty-Ability to work collaboratively with multiple, diverse constituencies-Ability to factor a lens of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion into all aspects of the work-Proven ability to foster positive, collaborative working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organizationPreferred Qualifications:-Experience with higher education curriculum design-Experience working within a large, decentralized university-Leadership experience of a higher education unit or program-Four or more years of teaching experience-International and/or social justice focused research experience-Demonstrated capacity to author grant proposals and secure grant funding-Experience mentoring and/or advising graduate studentsrecblid pargnh98gttpcja3w2j5bn0h1rqs85 PDN-9c13d68d-0df7-4b05-b0c5-e491abd53581
