Project Engineer - Wastewater Treatment Description Here at Amerapex Corporation, we are experts in engineering, management, and development services supporting multisector project work. The Project Engineer works collaboratively with various departments (operations, water, hydro, etc.) to ensure design, operation, control, and production optimization are achieved throughout the engineering process. The Project Engineer will manage the entire life cycle of various projects deemed organizationally necessary for the manufacturing plants. We are looking to find talented people to join our team. Examples of Duties All planning and design aspects of a project, including preparation and development of alternative analyses, reports, design plans, specifications, cost estimates, calculations, and permit applications. Preparation of detailed designs for both new installations and rehabilitation of existing water/wastewater collection/distribution/transmission systems, pump stations, and treatment plants. Leadership of junior engineers and small design teams. Coordinate and work with various disciplines and sub-consultants handling multiple tasks with competing priorities. Work directly with clients to determine needs and provide solutions. Assistance in business development efforts and proposal preparation. Travel as needed for client meetings, project site visits, etc. Keeps abreast of changes in the field by attending client meetings, etc. Tracking and reporting of contract costs against detailed contract budgets; preparing cost reports and schedules for project manager and management. Review and understand project cost estimates. Prepare quarterly forecasts and annual budgets and reporting of the key performance indicators for the project. Provide continuous project reporting with accurate and timely information that includes budget, commitments, forecast, variances, change management, progress, risk & opportunity, contingency, cash flow, and resource planning. Support accounts receivable as required during the billing processing. Monitor billing status and unbilled issues, working with Finance, Contracts, Accounting, and Procurement to resolve issues promptly. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Typical Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience: Associate/Technical degree in environmental science, chemistry, or related field and extensive progressively responsible experience in wastewater treatment plant operations including supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience . Licenses and/or Certifications: Requirements: Master's degree Education: Degree major must be in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or another similar discipline. Work Experience: Four (4) years of "hands-on" experience in water treatment or similar. OR bachelor's degree Education: Degree major must be in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or another similar discipline. Work Experience: Five (5) years of "hands-on" experience in water treatment or similar. Valid driver's license. TWIC Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Thorough knowledge of wastewater treatment practices, methods, and related equipment, including water testing equipment and safety precautions. Good knowledge of the local and state regulations governing wastewater treatment operations. Skill in operating and maintaining mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems. Supervisory, interpersonal, communication and computer skills. Ability to pass a red and green color blindness test. Supplemental Information Work Environment: Employees may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, extreme noise, odors, heights, dust, and hazardous materials. Employees will also experience a normal office setting with access to coffee, refreshments, and occasional snacks. Essential Physical Activities: Walking, lifting, hearing, seeing up close, pushing, talking, standing, finger movement, depth perception. Typical weight handled: up to 50 lbs.
