Private Home Health Aide / Healthcare Assistant / PCA / DSP Flexible Part-Time and As-Available Shifts Open | Individual Client at Private Residence | North Mankato, MN Overview PRIVATE CAREGIVERS NEEDED at a lovely estate with great pay and perks. This is a light-duty, part-time or as-available care position with many opportunities for downtime and relaxation. We're seeking high-quality people who enjoy seeing the difference they make just by being around. Direct care experience is nice, but we'll provide training to all successful candidates, whether you're a philosophy student or nursing pro. YOU'LL BE HELPING a disabled young-professional adult who is intelligent, educated, employed, and capable of directing his needs. Your care helps him remain working and enjoying his life, passions, and loved ones in his own home, so this is a rewarding opportunity to gain deep healthcare knowledge and experience by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and health maintenance. PAY is $20/hr plus ample paid vacation/sick/personal days off and frequent bonuses. REQUIREMENTS include dependability and timeliness, reliable transportation, excellent communication, good judgment, a reasonably positive attitude, ability to use a smartphone, and ability to briefly lift 50+ lbs. Applicants must be 18 or older, living within 30 minutes of North Mankato, and able to pass a thorough background check. CURRENT OPENINGS are as follows, in addition to our "as-available flex pool." Please note that you don't have to fill all of these to be hired; if you can do even one, that's great. Sundays 3-10p Wednesdays 3-10p Tuesdays 10p-3a You'll receive full training for all roles, and you'll also be able to instantly learn about any open shifts. If you want a shift, you can take it; otherwise, no obligation. Typically, at least one shift per week opens up; many more in the case of staff illnesses etc. Short-notice openings typically come with generous bonuses. INTERESTED? Description of Responsibilities Primary Duties Provide general light-duty care and monitoring; check needs, wellbeing, and safety. Be available during shifts to respond as needed to requests for help, expressed in person, by text, or by alarm. Monitor and occasionally report daily info and health trends for others. Relax in private aide area when not needed, or for breaks and meals. Assist with nutrition: simple beverage preparation and supplement/med consumption. Assist with use and upkeep of BiPap ventilator (humidifier, hoses, masks, filters). Assist with daily treatments (nebulizer, handheld percussor, etc.). Assist with basic range of motion and physical maintenance (20min/day). Assist in repositioning or sitting up in bed and transferring to seated position. Must be able to briefly lift up to 50 lbs. Client is light, but proper safe techniques must be used. Assist with retrieving or using basic objects. May assist with basic communication tasks. Assist with personal hygiene. This includes dressing, cleaning, and grooming. Assist with basic toileting and GI care. Maintain a hygienic environment by washing hands and disinfecting used surfaces. Occasionally disinfect equipment such as BiPap and nebulizer. Keep regularly used items clean. Assist with occasional basic household tasks. Follow all COVID and public health guidelines as applied to the household and the client. Study and understand procedures, routines, equipment, and techniques. Secondary Duties (less frequent) Assist with basic occasional household maintenance, possibly including: Household cleanliness: occasionally dust, vacuum, mop, or sani-wipe. Remove obstacles and clutter or store items as directed. Keep sinks and toilets, towels and rags hygienic. Change and launder bedding. May assist client during occasional in-home visits or interactions with others. May assist in helping client move throughout his home. May assist in training other aides. May very rarely assist in managing phone calls, appointments, or scheduling. Optional May rarely be asked to provide core duties in medical/hospital setting; only as mutually agreed, special rates and separate pay may apply. May rarely help with shopping.
