Full-Time Associate Pastor Description The Associate Pastor is the primary ministry partner for the Lead Pastor, supporting the vision/mission of the church as needed. His responsibilities include shepherding ministries, hosting and coordinating the worship service, championing congregational connection (people to people and church to community), and periodic Bible teaching on Sunday mornings. Essential Job Functions Support the Lead Pastor in the overall leadership of the church. Shepherd strategic ministries such as Youth, Worship, and Missions, and work with the corresponding ministry leaders to maximize attendance and engagement. Function as the host of the Sunday morning worship service (planning, coordination, communication, and execution). Champion congregational and community engagement. Assist the Lead Pastor in congregational care events as needed (hospital visits, memorial services/funerals, etc.). Participate in the preaching and teaching ministry as opportunities arise. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience This position requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a staff member in a ministry leadership capacity. Possession of a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies, a related field, or relevant experience is required. The right candidate will have a clear calling to pastoral ministry, will be biblically qualified as an elder/shepherd of the flock of God (1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9), and will enjoy serving as part of a gospel-focused team of elders, staff, and amazing volunteers. Compensation and Benefits Annual salary $65,000-72,000/year, commensurate with experience, plus a health care stipend of $8,000. Note : Black Forest Chapel is also seeking a part-time Worship Pastor.
