Based on our internal equity review process, the starting salary for this position will be $28.85 The current full hourly range for this position is $28.85 - $31.07 The Adaptive Department is seeking inclusively minded staff to help support this year's summer camps. Our camps serve a variety of youth with disabilities and our staff work to meet accommodations for a wide range of needs including sensory, social/emotional, and physical differences. Camps run from July 8 - August 23, mostly Mondays - Thursdays. If supporting our sensory friendly camps, you may be asked to work only the mornings or the afternoons or for the full day. Rec Leaders (II) may also be asked to support Friday field trips, which usually take place between 10-2 on Fridays following sensory friendly camps. The Adaptive Recreation Leader (III) will work within a team setting to support campers, plan and organize camp activities, mentor and support Recreation Leader (I & II) staff, and assist with social/emotional and behavior management of campers during the camp day. Level III Recreation Leaders will also run the camp's sign in/sign out routine, communicate any concerns and highlights from the camper's day to parents, ensure the completion of necessary behavior and incident reports, know and follow any relevant emergency safety procedures, and reach out to Adaptive Recreation Specialists and Coordinator for support as needed. At least 5 years of experience directly supporting individuals with disabilities, ideally children, is required and at least 2 years of experience supervising and/or supporting staff or volunteers is preferred.
