About Jerritt Canyon First Majestic acquired the Jerritt Canyon Gold Mine from Sprott Mining Inc. on April 30, 2021. The Jerritt Canyon property contains 30,821 hectares of mining claims located in the mining friendly state of Nevada. The Jerritt Canyon deposit was discovered in 1972 and first gold production from the property occurred in 1981. The Jerritt Canyon Gold District is located in Elko County, northeastern Nevada. The Carlin-type gold mineralization at Jerritt Canyon is hosted by silty carbonate or carbonaceous siliciclastic rocks originally deposited as shelf sedimentary rocks during the Paleozoic Era. The Opportunity Jerritt Canyon is looking for a Senior Accountant. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accounting and financial reporting functions. The accountant will ensure companies accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles, international accounting rules (IFRS) and Company policies. Responsibilities Coordinates the company's accounting and financial reporting functions (includes the cost accounting system). Designs and maintains the company's system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets. Ensures tax compliance with all federal, state, local, and international corporate, payroll and other applicable taxes. Ensures compliance with local, state, federal, also ensures compliance with company policies and reporting requirements. Assists with the preparation of the monthly financial results and the report of actual revenues, transfers, and expenses. Coordinates schedules and information for financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements. Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close process, including quarterly financial audits and control testing. Prepare account reconciliations, review costs for completeness, and evaluate reasonableness of balances to research and proactively resolve errors or reconciling items. Prepare cost variance analyses and promote cost controls and efficiency in conduct of business. Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and statutory statement preparation as needed. Establish knowledge of IFRS and accounting policies, procedures, and internal control standards, and maintain compliance while performing responsibilities. Contribute ideas and actions towards the continuous improvement of processes within area of influence. Assist in establishing and maintaining strong, collaborative partnerships with all areas of the business. Preparing and processing paychecks and cash deposits. Maintaining accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions. Validation of material inventory control, review of requisitions and purchase orders with supply chain and users. Fixed Assets: CIP control, annual inventory. Preparing and distributing financial reports and statements. Attention to Internal and External Audits. The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field required. Three (3) to six (6) years prior related experience preferred. CPA, CFA, or CMA designation preferred. Strong technical accounting skills, understanding of accounting concepts, and comprehension of business-related implications are required. Proficiency with all Microsoft Office tools required. Ability to be organized, efficient, analytical, and to pay close attention to details required. Excellent team player with the ability to work with Staff Accountants, Mine Sites, Executives, and other departments personnel/cross-functional teams required. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to be self-motivated, flexible, and able to organize and respond to multiple demands and priorities required. Exposure to the mining industry in a mining accounting function preferred.
