Colloide continues to expand our portfolio of districting heating projects, as a result we are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Energy to support the design, installation, commissioning and tendering of the associated building services. This role will involve writing specifications; reviewing designs; reviewing technical submissions; checking installation against design; witnessing network commissioning; acceptance testing post commissioning; producing models and reports for presentation back to clients. Working on large scale District Heating projects: you will be carrying the system design of low temperature heat network, encompassing the energy centre, buried network, and building level connections. Part of the role requires collaboration with the bid support team, in the writing and compilation of Bids/ tenders and technical documents. The role will involve interaction with customer representatives, suppliers and contractors, therefore excellent communication skills is essential. Essential Criteria Eng / BSc Engineering Degree (Building Services, Mechanical, Civil or similar, minimum of a 2:1 standard). Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role. Working towards CEng Chartered Engineer status. A thorough working knowledge of relevant CIBSE Guides, British Standards, BSRIA, IGEM and other industry authority publications. Experience liaising with both internal and external clients, contractors and suppliers. A working knowledge of the Construction & Design Management Regulations 2015. Experience of writing sub-contractor scopes of supply, specifications and major plant tender documentation. Experience of the detailed design of energy centres, CHP, boilers, chillers, heat pumps and district heating network installations. Experience of producing Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and engineering schematics in 2D Auto CAD.
