Practice Area: Litigation - Real Estate - Defense, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 3 Years, A law firm is seeking a Condominium Associations Associate Attorney to join their team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, particularly in representing Condominium Association and Common Interest Community Associations. Job Overview:The Condominium Associations Associate Attorney will be responsible for representing clients in court, preparing cases for trial, negotiating resolutions for disputes, and developing litigation and resolution strategies. This role requires excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, as well as the ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and exercise good judgment in dealing with confidential matters. Duties:Represent clients in courtDepose witnesses, including expert witnesses, as appropriate for your level of experiencePrepare cases for trial and assist at trial as appropriate for your level of experienceNegotiate resolutions for disputes between owners and boards of directorsDefend challenging cases involving claims based on professional negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, discrimination and harassment, breach of contract, general negligence, and other tort claimsDevelop litigation and resolution strategies and communicate with clientsSupport client development and marketing efforts with the partnershipDevelop legal skills through in-firm mentoring, in-house training sessions, and other professional development activities Requirements:3+ years of litigation experience, with 1+ year of experience with Community Associations and/or not-for-profit corporationsBar admission in the State of IllinoisJuris doctorate from ABA-accredited law school (GPA 3.2 or higher)Familiarity with Community Association governing documents (Declarations, Bylaws, Rules and Regulations), as well as the Illinois statutes pertaining to themStrong organizational skills to manage a varied caseloadStrong writing skills to communicate effectively to the court, client, and opposing counselStrong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) With 15 offices concentrated on the two coasts, plus Chicago and Detroit, this firm has national reach and a rising stature.
