The Development Manager will be a key part of the Armed Services YMCA Fort Leonard Wood fundraising team. This position is part-time up to 25 hours per week and eligible for remote work if outside the Ft. Leonard Wood area. Hourly rate commensurate with experience $21.15-26.92. Some evening and weekend work may be required for fundraising and donor events. Must be located inside the continental United States. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Manager will be responsible for: 1) Donor Recognition : writing thank you letters, coordinating thank you calls, and ensuring donors of different levels are cultivated appropriately and in accordance with existing cultivation strategies. 2) Database Management : entering donations into the database, regularly cleaning-up existing data, pulling reports, conducting weekly reconciliations between development and accounting records, and keeping up to pace with the latest capabilities of the database and ways to improve existing systems. 3) Direct Mail and Solicitation Support : assisting with direct mail and other solicitation campaigns. 4) Grant Writing: including research, writing, and reporting on foundation and government grants. 5) Other Development Support as Needed : this may include researching major donor prospects, assisting with our annual dinner and coordination monthly program tours. Write and process thank you letters Reconcile Development and Accounting records on a weekly basis Pull reports from DonorPerfect to capture insightful information on fundraising activities Lead direct mail and solicitation mailings Lead online fundraising & solicitation efforts Conduct regular clean-up of Virtuous data to ensure the accuracy of records Create a grants calendar to monitor all grant-related activities and ensure goals are being met Conduct research to identify new funding opportunities Write foundation and government grant proposals Complete foundation and government grant reports Provide support to special events and fundraising activities as needed Enter donations and contacts into DonorPerfect Support marketing initiatives with regards to fundraising activities for program and information provided for brochures All other duties as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Minimum of 1 year of non-profit development experience AND Bachelor’s Degree in related field OR combination of educational and work experience that would be equivalent to the stated minimum requirements would qualify for consideration of this position . Experience with CRM's required. Three or more years of non-profit development experience is preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: General knowledge of nonprofit organizational practices. A professional demeanor with an aptitude for analytical thinking and problem solving. Responsible, well organized, and demonstrate initiative. Strong proficiency in Windows, Excel, Microsoft Word, Publisher, Social Media, and contact management programs such as Virtuous & Classy. Must be accurate and detail oriented, possess strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a complex and fast paced environment. Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Must have excellent customer service skills. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, organizational, and public speaking skills. Proven track record of success. INTERACTION This position may provide information to donors, potential donors, program participants, volunteers, partners, ASYMCA Board and staff, and others from the community. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This is a position with limited supervisory responsibilities (volunteers). LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Must have reliable transportation and possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, a satisfactory driving record, including proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage required by law. PHYSICAL, MENTAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: Work in an office setting (remote outside of the Fort Leonard Wood area) with occasional travel. Sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel and uses hands, arms and legs for dexterity, balance and climbing stairs frequently. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time. Occasionally lifts, carries and balances objects weighing up to 30 pounds. Pulls and pushes such objects as file drawers and supplies. Prioritizes and multi-tasks work and projects requiring good memory, concentration and analytical thinking. Occasionally is required to perform the safe operation of office equipment and machines, and recognize and abate safety hazards within the workplace. Must be able to hear, see including peripheral vision and distinction of colors, read and communicate verbally and in writing frequently with a wide range of people from divergent socio-economic and cultural backgrounds and origins.
