DescriptionJOB PURPOSE:Responsible for source selection and procurement of materials and tooling and selecting services for company needs. Responsible for the management of local suppliers. Responsible for working with local users groups to drive standardization where possible in order to be able to leverage spend.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: * Initiate purchase orders for tools, materials, and supplies for construction operations across all states in which the company operates; arrange for submission and inspection of sample products as required. Data entry of all purchase orders. Send all new purchase orders to vendors. * Secure and analyze quotations, negotiate best prices and terms with suppliers, and recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness. * Interview and confer with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics, inventory control and management; negotiate prices and delivery terms with guidance from the Director of Purchasing. * Contact suppliers about any discrepancies with quantity and quality of product received. * Interface with all company departments and resolve supply problems as necessary, and work to help standardize on product and best practices with respect to materials management. QUALIFICATIONS:Education and CertificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in business, economics or a related fieldExperienceRequired:Preferred:2+ years in purchasing role at the corporate level with progressively responsible purchasing and materials control experience. Direct interaction with vendors.Functional / Technical Competency RequirementsRequired:Excellent communication, oral and written, with all levels of the organization. Build relationships among the organization and with clients/customers. Analytical thinking. Intermediate use of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, v-lookups, pivot tables.
