's largest distributors of rocks and gemstones and is home to Canada's national treasure, ammolite. Our business is expanding, and we are seeking to hire a Purchasing Officer to join our growing company to oversee. You will be responsible to evaluate vendors, negotiating contracts and prepare reports. For this role, you should have a solid knowledge of market research, along with solid analytical skills to make sure you are identifying the most profitable offers. Position: Purchasing Officer Vacancies: 1 vacancy Compensation: $35.00/hour plus overtime pay; two weeks of paid vacation Terms of employment: Permanent. Full time 30 hours/week, Monday to Friday Start date: As soon as possible Job duties: • Responsible for the purchasing of daily necessities of the company. • Purchase general and specialized equipment and products. • Develop and implements purchasing strategies. • backss requirements of products and develop specifications for equipment and supplies. • Negotiates with vendors for the optimal price and negotiates contracts and policies with suppliers and reviews quotations. • Seeks and partners with reliable vendors and maintains good and long-term relationships with them. • Monitors the quality and requirements of products. • Controls purchasing budget. • Inspects and evaluates inventory, and reorders stock as needed. • Verifies and maintains records of all orders, payments and received stock. • Coordinates with logistics companies to schedule and monitor each delivery, ensuring timely and smooth delivery. • Contact clients and suppliers to resolve problems. Minimum Requirement• Minimum bachelor’s degree credentials. • Minimum three years experience as purchasing officer. • Ability to communicate in English. • Strong negotiation ability and influencing skills. • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and purchasing software...
