Service Care Legal are working closely with a Local authority based in South Yorkshire who are recruiting for a Locum Corporate Governance Lawyer. The candidate will have to attend committee meetings, so the role is a Hybrid position. ROLE: Corporate Governance Lawyer LOCATION: Sheffield CONTRACT: 7 month on going position SALARY: £45- £60ph The Role- Advising on the legal requirements and limitations of a committee system of governance including area committees Advising on the legal requirements of the Council’s constitution and contributing to a review of the constitution Contributing to/advising on/reviewing/drafting policy documents and protocols connected with the operation of the constitution and the committee system Advising on the scheme of delegations within the constitution and the requirements for reports to decision-makers Advising on local government constitutional and administrative law The Person- Current practising Lawyer/Solicitor/Barrister experience within a Local Authority & within Corporate Governance Capable of reading and understanding large amount of documents quickly Hybrid- Attending meetings as required Confident Individual who is also well organised.
