Evertz Microsystems currently has a number of vacancies to join its UK based compression group. The group develop world leading video and audio compression products for the broadcast, video streaming and edge-computing industry. Solutions are deployed in customer facilities worldwide with the results viewed by millions of people every day. Based in Aberdeen, Scotland, the UK based group is a small cohesive team which is tightly integrated with the wider Evertz compression group and the extended R&D team based at various Evertz sites in Canada. We have a number of opportunities for entry and intermediate-level engineers to join our expanding team to work on existing and future product developments. Consideration will also be given to suitably experienced senior candidates. The group’s development scope encompasses all aspects of product development from high-level multimedia frameworks, through embedded Linux system software, to low-level FPGA hardware architecture and logic design, optimization and verification. The roles are to be based in our Aberdeen office but a degree of remote working can potentially be accommodated depending on experience. Requirements: BEng/BSc degree (1st class / 2.1) in Computing Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. A passion to learn and develop new skills in a fast paced and continually evolving technology area. Self-motivated and well organized with the ability to work well in a distributed design team and also as an individual contributor. Excellent verbal and written communication and an ability to work within a distributed team. Demonstrable software development skills. Desirable - A subset of: Knowledge of multimedia frameworks such as gstreamer or ffmpeg. Experience working with CI/CD pipelines. Good C/C++ skills, ideally for desktop/server and embedded applications (eg. ARM and FPGA soft-core processors). General software development skills preferably. Visit ListedBuy for more information.
