Title: Electrical Design Engineer : Solar Location: West Midlands A GBP Competitive Salary + Companies Benefits Overview: We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to work for our client at their facility in the West Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity involved in development and design of a range of flat and pitched roofing, car ports and ground mounted solar systems. This is a real technical role, involved in working alongside the companies structural engineers and their technical department. The suitable candidate will be responsible for establishing a specification for the whole solar system; including the solar modules, inverters, batteries, monitoring systems and all other ancillaries associated to this type of system. Duties and Responsibilities: Involved in all aspects of electrical design across the whole solar systems including producing necessary calculations Working collaborative with the sales/business development teams as the technical specialist for customer proposal and specifications Actively visiting customer sites with the sales/business development teams and lead the spec out requirements for the customer, including feasibility studies Involved in identifying any relevant testing requirements for the system Responsible for developing specifications for our clients solar offering and responsible for electrical design Prepare technical specifications and configurations for solar energy solutions Person Specification: Solar design capabilities would be desirable, will also considered someone with experience of inverters and batteries (and/or) electrical systems Full UK driving licence with the flexibility to travel across the UK where necessary with occasional stayovers Familiarisation with solar simulation software/shading analysis Experience in data analysis Training and/or experience of working at height Excellent communication skills Qualifications and Specialist Training: Degree qualified.
