Job details Location: Blackfalds, AB, T0M 0J0Salary30.00 hourly / 40 to 60 hours per Week Terms of employment: Permanent employment Full time Day, Evening, Weekend Start date: Starts as soon as possible Benefits: Health benefits Vacancies10 vacancies Overview Languages: English Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years Responsibilities Tasks• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment• Perform emergency roadside repairs• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle• Perform preventive maintenance• Receive and relay information to central dispatch• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo• Transport and handle dangerous goods Credentials Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Driver's License: (Class 1 or A)Experience and specialization Documentation knowledge• Accident or incident reports• Bill of lading• Driver logbook• Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)• Trip reports Communication systems experience• Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment• Trip recorder (on-board computer) Transportation/travel experience• Long-haul Additional information Security and safety• Criminal record check• Driver's validity licence check• Driving record check (abstract)• Drug test• Medical exam Transportation/travel information• Valid driver's licence• Willing to travel for extended periods Work conditions and physical capabilities• Attention to detail• Physically demanding• Sitting Own tools/equipment• Cellular phone• Steel-toed safety boots Personal suitability• Efficient interpersonal skills• Flexibility• Judgement• Organized• Reliability• Team player Benefits.
