ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT: The Technical Support Specialist supports internal and external work by procuring parts for operations work and selling parts to customers. The incumbent will also support the Manager, Motive Power Technical Support as needed. MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES: Research and source parts, tools, and components for locomotives and shop equipment and those required by workers to perform operational duties. Key contact for customer inquiries for parts pricing and availability. Respond to technical inquiries and advise on solutions. Assist in preparing quotes for customers accurately and in a timely manner. Prepare parts lists for major internal projects, items for shipment to customers and internal stakeholders ensuring accuracy of shipping method, documents, and materials. Maintain positive work relationships with customers and suppliers. Run and reviews reports to ensure all parts for area of responsibility are properly allocated, received, and issued and report any issues appropriately and in a timely manner.
