Date Posted: 08/22/2023 Req ID: 33604 Faculty/Division: Vice-Provost, Students Department: University Admissions and Outreach Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto) Description: Position Summary: Under the general direction of the Director, this position plays a lead role in ensuring student recruitment tactics and initiatives are informed by the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion and are well aligned with strategy and effectively operationalized. The incumbent builds and leads a high functioning team of equity recruitment staff, Indigenous recruitment staff and oversees the Enrichment Academy (including staff) – an overarching tri-campus reach-back equity initiative. The incumbent works directly with divisional colleagues to coordinate tri-campus equity recruitment activities locally, nationally and potentially internationally. The incumbent is responsible for taking a leadership role and Chairing the University’s Equity Diversity Inclusion Recruitment and Admissions Council (EDIRAC) and ensuring the principles, policies and directives are embedded in future recruitment practices and tactics. The role is a senior leadership role for the University in the space of Equity Recruitment and Outreach and as such will have many internal senior partnerships including, but not limited, to tri-campus divisional leads for equity recruitment, DUA (financing partner for the Enrichment Academy), Indigenous Initiatives Office, and First Nations House. The role also includes direct recruitment work such as off-site presentations and counselling sessions for students, parents and guidance counsellors as well as involvement with community-based organizations. Qualifications Required: Education: University degree (preferably from the University of Toronto); or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
