Job Description PRN/On Call- please specify Day or Night Shift availability ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS ADMISSION PROCESS* Ensure that requests for evaluation are responded to in a timely mannerwith a thorough evaluation and appropriate disposition.* Facilitate direct admissions by coordinating with the Physician, referringfacility, HBSC staff and insurance authorizations.* Review new and pending admissions daily in order to ensure that clinical,financial, insurance and administrative information has been accuratelyobtained and acted upon.* Ensure that prior authorizations are obtained for admissions.* Organize information of patient's current needs and provide a succinctclinical presentation to admitting physician.CUSTOMER INTERACTION* Interact with patients, family members, external entities and internal staffprofessionally and respectfully.* Work collaboratively with all treatment team members to create a treatmentenvironment that supports the facility's mission to provide exemplarypatient care and customer service.* Act to preserve patient and family dignity and safety.* Provides assessment of patient's current needs sufficient to formulaterecommendation to physician of patient's level of care needs.* Demonstrates an understanding of the community's continuum ofbehavioral health resources.DOCUMENTATION* Documentation for medical records and reports is timely, legible, thorough,and in required format.* Document as required including inquiry calls, assessments, managed care data, etc. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Must possess current AZ RN licensure.Experience with crisis management and the referral, intake and assessment process in an inpatient psychiatric hospitalis preferred.CPR/CPI Certification or ability obtain.
