Hello, We are in search of a full-time caregiver for Fausto (age 93) and Jean (age 90) who have been married for 67 years. They wish to age in their family home of nearly five decades, living next-door to their daughter (Rina). Although they currently live unassisted with few health conditions relative to their age, in recent months it has been apparent that some day-to-day assistance is now needed, as well as planning for future needs. We would like to find a caregiver who would be responsible for Fausto and Jean’s day-to-day personal care as well as house maintenance. This role of caregiver would require someone to be comfortable with cleaning. Responsibilities could include: • Companionship • Assistance with bathing a few times a week • Some meal preparation • Laundry • Weekly changing of bedding and cleaning of the house (ideally, but negotiable)• General tidying of bathrooms, kitchen, & living areas daily • Occasional grocery shopping, errands, and accompanying to appointments would only be required if the applicant has a driver’s license (a vehicle would be provided). • At this time, they do not require assistance with taking medication but this may change in the future Requirements include: • Basic English speaking ability • Up-to-date vaccinations for COVID & yearly flu • Experience with elderly caregiving • Driver’s license (DL) is preferred (but not a requirement) This would be a full-time (40 hours a week) live-out position. There is the potential for this position to be live-in accommodations in the future (about a few months from now) but not immediately. We would like to determine a schedule (work days & hours) that would suit both the caregiver and my elderly parents. We are also open to determining a salary/wage that both parties are comfortable with. Hourly wage would be based on commitment to the position, previous experience, DL, and qualifications.
