We need a food prep worker who knows their way around a kitchen with minimal supervision. You’ll be responsible for stocking, preparing, and measuring condiments and slicing, dicing, and mixing foods for cooking. You’ll need to follow all safety protocols in the kitchen, and keep your workstation clean and equipment sanitized for the duration of your shift. You must be able to read recipe directions and labels in English and operate a variety of kitchen equipment, including sharp knives and measuring tools. Some lifting, pulling, and bending are required. Some kitchen experience and a 2-year associate's degree are preferred but not required. If this sounds like a fit for you, we’d love to meet. Responsibilities: • Perform other basic cooking duties as necessary, such as brewing coffee or tea, preparing soups, reducing sauces, and assisting other cooks in the kitchen if needed• Prepare recipes using the proper measurements needed for condiments and wash dice, and slice fruits and vegetables, and meats, for the variety of meals we prepare for customers• Follow instructions for recipes. Read meal charts and labels in English and use the measuring tools correctly• Adhere to COVID-19 safety protocol measures in all food preparation areas and follow all food safety guidelines in the kitchen workstations• Maintain a clean, organized prep area and workstation at all times, and sanitize equipment after each shift or when we closeThe Line Cook is a member of the Food & Beverage Team. S/he is responsible for:• Preparation of menu items (breakfast/lunch/dinner/banquets) for the hotel• Prepares food• Ensures consistent quality• Follows Standard Operating Procedures and Food Safety procedures This individual is required to be confident, detail-oriented, work well in a team environment, and enjoys serving customers in a positive, friendly, and courteous manner. Qualifications: • Must be comfortable handling sharp knives and other kitchen tools when prepping food• Should be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time and also bend, pull, and lift 35-50 pounds• You have the basic skills necessary to prep food for a chef/cook with minimal supervision expected• We’d prefer it if you have an associate's degree (AA), or equivalent, but it’s not required for the job• Able to read recipes, meal charts, and labels and understand directions in English• Prior experience as a cook in a restaurant, hotel, county club, or similar environment About Company: The Lismore Hotel Eau Claire - a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel.
