About the Job: Provide front desk clerical support with the daily activities of the Urgent Care Center patient reception area, including telephone coverage, visit registration, and assisting patients with inquiries. The schedule includes one 10-hour weekday shift, one 8-hour weekend shift per week, and every other weekend rotation. There may be a sporadic need to provide coverage at locations for schedule needs or vacation coverage, which is eligible for travel/mileage reimbursement. Job Description: Under general supervision, the PSR assists the Providers, Nurses, Clinical Assistants, Patient Service Representatives, Clinic Management, and Practice Administrator/RN in delivering expert medical care to our patients. Day-to-day activities will vary from greeting and interacting with patients to answering phone calls, collecting intake information, and performing point-of-care testing while executing our goal of providing top-notch patient care. Overall, this position directly interacts with patients and is integral in helping deliver our mission of bringing ER expertise to life's little emergencies. Requirements: The ideal team member will have prior relevant experience in a similar or the same environment, and 1-3 years is preferred. As we provide services seven days a week, this job does require evening hours and weekend rotations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provides exemplary customer service; greets and treats all patients, visitors, and coworkers with courtesy and discretion. Communicates in a courteous, professional, cooperative, and mature manner. Answers telephone promptly and politely; either responds to the inquiry, directs caller to appropriate personnel, or initiates a response by medical personnel while entering appropriate notation into practice management software. Register patients in the practice management system; accurately enter/update current patient information from established and new patients; identify proper payer sources; verify insurance eligibility; and determine any patient's financial responsibilities during their visit. Review the practice management system for needed updated demographics and consent forms. Assists patients with the completion of paperwork when necessary. Enter confidential personal health information and financial information into a computerized system with a high accuracy rate. Collects payments from patients and applies to patient accounts in the computer system. Scans identification cards and related documents are entered into the practice management system and labeled appropriately per protocol. Complies with federal and local laws to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality. Recognizes and responds appropriately to any emergencies. Other duties may be assigned by management, a provider, or a clinical team member as needed. To be successful with us, you must possess: High standard of work ethic. Impeccable patient care. The Urgent Care Centers are open 355 days per year, seven days per week, to serve our community better and offer extended evening hours. While walk-ins are accepted, visit reservations are encouraged to wait comfortably elsewhere until the estimated visit time. The practice accepts most insurance plans with no referrals necessary.
