We work hard to be awesome at what we do while taking an attitude of ownership, having a team mentality, and always doing the right thing.Cyclonaire is currently seeking a meticulous and skilled Mechanical Drafter to join our team.The Mechanical Drafter is responsible for preparing production and assembly drawings using computer-aided drafting (Solidworks) based on models created by equipment designers and engineers. Some modeling and design may be involved but an understanding of the concepts and practices is necessary. This position will work as part of a team by assisting the equipment engineers and designers. This role will be able to carry out its functions in accordance with Cyclonaire's Core Values. Essential FunctionsCreation of 2D Drawings using SolidWorks and PDM VaultCreation of top-level assembly drawings for customer approval/useCreation of individual production drawings, including assembly, part, and weldment drawingsManagement of design work to ensure deadlines can be met (drawings available in timely manner)Work with production to ensure conformance with fabrication techniquesProvides routine drafting support, prepares various drawings and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketchesUtilizes established techniques, standards, and tools like computer-aided drafting software to prepare technical drawings Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects Develop documentation around designed equipment Other duties as assignedCompetencies: A strong understanding of pneumatic circuits and mechanical design is required. Must have a professional personality and the ability to work as an effective team member. Must be able to work within existing design standards and guidelines. Strong knowledge of Mechanical Drafting principles and dimensioning methods is preferred. Problem-solving and critical thinking skills are required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to communicate effectively. Must be able to work in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and Microsoft Teams. Experience with 2D CAD design, ACAD or equivalent, and 3D CAD design, preferably SolidWorks, is desired. Education / Experience: Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in Computer-Aided Design Drafting or 1-2 years of related experience, or equivalent degree/experience is required. Familiarity with industrial equipment, manufacturing processes, metal fabrication, and design principles is desired. Physical Demands: Sedentary position requiring extended periods of sitting. Talking, hearing, and repetitive motions are required. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting. Work requires constant visual ability. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds independently.Work Environment: Clean and climate-controlled office environment in a manufacturing facility. Travel Requirements: NoneSafety: Safety shoes (steel or composite toe), safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and other forms of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required in designated areas.Other Duties: Safe work performance is always required from each employee. Perform all duties and responsibilities in a safe manner in accordance with applicable Health and Safety Manuals.
