About this Role: This position should be viewed as learning and training position; the Cement Development Engineer (CDE) is expected to develop leadership, technical and organizational skills while performing a variety of assigned job functions within a manufacturing facility. The CDE will have a me ntoring relationship with a key staff member, will attend a variety of training courses to develop both technical and soft skills, and will be expected to rotate through various departments of the facility to develop experience and knowledge of the process and industry. Develop an understanding of the cement manufacturing process and propose changes to improve operating costs, efficiencies, environmental impact and product quality. Participate in process activities within various manufacturing departments; will include quarry, production, maintenance, shipping, environmental, safety, and quality. Complete training in operational support functions; including Human Resources, Finance, and Management. Participate in process engineering activities such as mass and heat balances, air flows, circuit efficiency studies, and any related testing necessary to maintain operating efficiencies.
