Position Overview: The Finance & Tax Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department. This includes monitoring and analyzing accounting and finance data, and also producing financial statements. This position is responsible for following accepted accounting, and finance, principles and procedures to ensure the accuracy of financial information and appropriate accounting controls. Prior accounting and finance experience in the construction space is highly preferred! Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Direct the activities and mentor the members of the finance and accounting team that report to you. Mentor those team members in their career development with Enclos. Responsible for the general ledger for some or all the Enclos family of companies. Prepare income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements and various other accounting statements and reports in accordance with GAAP Analyze and review financial reports and records. Identifying finance and accounting problems, researching possible solutions and forming conclusions to present to management. Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and other analysis to close books at month/year end in accordance with GAAP. Responsible for tax compliance, including income and sales and use taxes and personal property for some or all of the Enclos family of companies. Performs work in a self-directed manner and works with less structured, more complex issues. Assist with the annual financial audit and other interim audits. Conduct regular ledger maintenance. Fixed asset accounting Coordinate month end closing activities for some or all the Enclos family of companies. Participate in annual budget planning. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience, have a competent understanding of finance, tax, and accounting basics. CPA license is preferred but not required. 5+ years of increasing finance and accounting responsibility experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting and communicating with management, peers and others. Understanding of GAAP accounting; ability to set priorities and respond to changing demands. Hands on experience/ working knowledge of payroll processing, accounts payable, contract billing and receivables. Proven attention to detail, strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to use computer-based technology, such as an ERP System (Penta), Document Management System (OnBase), and Excel. Able to work in a high volume, fast paced environment with a high degree of accuracy. Flexible and able to handle multiple tasks.
