We are seeking to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Scientist with interests in Immunology/Lymphocytes and RNA biology to join the laboratory of Dr. Martin Turner at the Babraham Institute. The post holder will investigate the formation and dynamics of RNA granules and their relationship to RNA decay in T lymphocytes. The post holder will build on our recent findings and use novel reagents and methods developed in the lab to investigate how RNA decay pathways and translational control regulate differentiation and effector function of T cells. The study has translational relevance to vaccination and cellular immunotherapy. The project will involve a significant amount of imaging including fixed and live cell confocal microscopy, super resolution microscopy and potentially correlative light-electron microscopy. Imaging experiments will be conducted in the Babraham Institute's world-class imaging facility which is equipped with cutting-edge instruments; for further information see www. babraham. ac. uk/science-facilities/imaging We are an established research team within the Immunology Programme at the Babraham Institute. Working at the interface of Immunology and RNA biology fields, we value grass-roots leadership, creative thinking, and collaborative approaches to research. The Babraham Institute is world-renowned for its research in life sciences and the post-holder will benefit from exceptional research facilities, the collegial environment of the Institute and the wider scientific research community in the Cambridge area. The ideal candidate will have a Ph D in a relevant discipline, experience preparing suspension cells for high resolution fluorescence microscopy, experience with confocal microscopy and live cell imaging.
