Benefits Are Available Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM3 months minimum + potential for perm positionThis is a float job. Requires a clean driving record. Job Description: - Assist in various assigned tasks, troubleshooting, training, and workflow recommendations.- Conduct blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, maintenance data recording, decontamination, patient information updates, etc.- Collect and store specimens following established protocols.- Provide clear and courteous explanations of venipuncture (blood drawing) or other specimen collection processes (e.g., urine or fecal).- Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.- Understand all physicians' orders thoroughly.- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as per test orders.- Ensure 100% accuracy by checking test requisitions or computer labels against scripts.- Prepare specimens for transport and store them according to required temperatures.- Accurately label samples and follow specific protocols for transport to maintain specimen integrity.- Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations.- Participate in annual departmental trainings.- Handle telephone inquiries and read laboratory results. Minimum Qualifications: - Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment where required.- At least 6 months of experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.- High School Diploma or GED.- 0-2 years of experience.
