Overview The Liao Lab of Quantitative Neurocytoskeleton is in the Physics and BioEngineering Departments and is a member of Institute for Chemical Imaging of Living Systems at Northeastern University. Our primary focus is on combining single-molecule imaging, genetic manipulation, whole-cell super-resolution microscopy, machine learning, and physical modeling to understand how neuron structures and functions emerge from the elementary molecular processes, under both normal development and pathological stresses. We welcome applications from creative and independent individuals interested in pursuing multidisciplinary and leading-edge approaches to understand the elusive connection between microtubule organization/dynamics and neurological diseases. They will also investigate the processes that control the interaction between microtubules and actin in the context of neuronal development.We endeavor to build a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment, in which everyone enjoys doing research and achieves motivating breakthroughs.
