Job Description As a leader within Campbell's Corporate Food Safety & Quality team, this position is responsible for providing senior leadership, strategy and subject matter expertise in development of company-wide Standards, Process and Execution primarily in the areas of Hygienic Design and Integrated Pest Management (IPM). The role requires a master level subject matter expertise and will be responsible and accountable for Hygienic design review process and proactive pest management strategies throughout the manufacturing and distribution network. In addition, this position will play a key role in innovation with providing direction on equipment design & execution of hygienic design standard. This position will demonstrate knowledge in Entomology and behavior of pests of concern in food manufacturing and distribution environments. This position will direct Senior leaders at all manufacturing & distribution locations along with cross-functional linkage with Senior Corporate Procurement, Global Engineering and Supply Chain Leads. The role will interface with key customers and governmental agencies to influence legislation and ensure compliance with Regulatory and customer requirements. The role requires strong communication and influencing skills, ability to build internal and external networks for benchmarking opportunities and align our Company with the best in class in the areas of Hygienic Design and IPM program. Primary Responsibilities: Develop and execute the Enterprise strategy including programs/procedures and training across Campbell's manufacturing and Distribution network to provide reliable, proactive and effective IPM and Hygienic Design programs to achieve best in class results Lead Hygienic Design Review process for the Enterprise to ensure compliance to equipment and infrastructure design standards for innovation projects, new line startups and/or modification to existing equipment across the network with close linkage to Corp. Engineering on Capital projects during the design phase Conduct network-wide training to build capability and understanding of hygienic design principles Create company-wide sanitation and pest management certification & training programs Responsible for facilitating work, drive improvements and mitigate risk in IPM activities across manufacturing network with a continuous improvement mindset. Monitor and track the established preventative IPM schedule and work closely with site Pest Control Operator (PCO) to adjust the IPM schedule based on real time data analysis of pest activity and trends Leads Pest Control event investigation and mitigation activities in partnership with manufacturing/distribution site and PCO. This includes, but not limited to, investigations of the issue, documentation, lead cross-functional meetings and developing/implementation of CAPAs Responsible for vendor relationship and vendor accountability for delivering high quality service per contract expectations, collaborating with vendors to continuously improve service quality and improvement plans, and resolve/troubleshoot service issues at the sites Conduct periodic vendor performance reviews and service improvement opportunities Develop and roll out best practices in storage and distribution of raw materials and finished product to assure pest-free products with adequate monitoring Periodic reporting of pest trends across the network and timely escalation of pest activity that may require intervention Provide expert Sanitation guidance and direction in crisis management situations Interface with key customers and governmental agencies to influence legislation and ensure compliance Job Complexities: Master level expertise in equipment and infrastructure design standards for innovation projects, new line startups. Elevate current Hygienic Design and IPM programs and procedures, verifying both accuracy and efficacy of the programs and procedures while recommending improvements or corrections for all Plants in the Campbell manufacturing network. Provide subject matter expertise in Sustainability and Network Optimization projects across Campbell's. Responsible for vendor relationship and vendor accountability for delivering high quality service per contract expectations, collaborating with vendors to continuously improve service quality and improvement plans, and resolve/troubleshoot service issues at the sites Must be able to apply Six Sigma tools and methodologies towards continuous improvement and problem solving Interface with key customers and governmental agencies to influence legislation and ensure compliance Work cross-functionally to assist with sanitation or pest control issue resolution by coordinating the efforts of all responsible internal and external parties for the timely resolution of the problem. Assist plants in preparation for specialty treatments including post treatment inspections. Keep abreast of new technologies and practices in IPM by maintaining close relationships with outside vendors, regulatory contacts and technical publications and reports. Any potential opportunities identified must be clearly communicated to the appropriate teams, properly trialed, and implemented as needed Must be able to simultaneously prioritize and execute multiple initiatives based on business needs. Must develop and maintain rapport with employees at all levels of the organization and must interface effectively with multiple departments/functions Must be available round-the-clock to provide expert guidance and direction addressing high risk issues that impact the company Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree Food Science, Microbiology, Engineering or a related technical field required 10+ years of experience in the food industry with demonstrated experience/achievements with responsibility for a broad spectrum of Technical Services mindset, Sanitation, Hygienic design and IPM elements. Travel expectation 50-75% Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed: Continuous Improvement knowledge and utilization of Lean principles, methodology and tools. Expert in Sanitary/Hygienic equipment design standards and assessment (working closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality and Technical Service) Knowledge in entomology and behavior of pests of concern in food manufacturing. Certification in pest control preferred. Proven capabilities on addressing and remediating of pest sightings and investigations in a Food Manufacturing Facility Strong auditing and assessment skills especially in Pest Control Programs Ability to develop and rollout training on Hygienic Design and IPM across the network Proven leadership and influencing skills Master level understanding of food plant manufacturing environment and must be a demonstrated change agent Proven strengths and in-depth knowledge of sanitation, Pest control and Plant manufacturing systems. Sanitarian certification is preferred Thorough knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, GFSI/ISO Sanitation Standards. Strong food safety and microbiology background in relation to pest control, pathogen & allergen control, spoilage and plant sanitation Proven experience with regulatory, industry and professional association partnerships Compensation and Benefits: The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between$105,000-$172,200Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
