Senior Internal Auditor

Key Responsibilities: The key responsibilities of this role include assisting with completing financial, operational, or compliance audits using a risk-based methodology under the supervision of the Internal Audit Lead in accordance with IIA Standards. You will be required to backss and report on control design and effectiveness, report on deficiencies by testing the performance of controls against company policies, external regulations (including SOX or Bill 198), and accounting requirements (including IFRS and US GAAP). Additionally, you will need to prepare and/or assist in documenting audit findings and recommendations through written memos or audit reports that mitigate risk, improve operations, and reduce costs. You will also be responsible for monitoring, validating, and reporting on the implementation status of management action plans resulting from audit engagements and SOX/Bill 198 backssments. Providing advisory services, investigations, and other ad hoc projects will also be a part of your job. You will be required to provide support to the business to implement operational improvements and to ensure consistency with accounting policies and IFRS/US GAAP. You will need to liaise with external auditors to provide support for internal controls and SOX backssments and to discuss any internal audit issues. Finally, you will be responsible for developing professional relationships with the audit team and fostering collaboration across all business units. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies: To be considered for this role, you must have a university degree and professional accounting designation. You should also have 5+ years of operational audit and/or internal controls experience. A driver's license for use in Canada and the US to rent vehicles for travel to site audits is required. Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills are a must, and strong verbal and written communication in French is highly. Visit ListedBuy for more information.
