Category Manager Job Summary Responsible for recommending and implementing sourcing strategy for specific categories with collaboration from stakeholders to resolve issues as they arise. Responsibilities Partners with Regional Procurement, business leaders, and other key stakeholders to execute capital and operational purchases that deliver cost savings and reduce supplier lead times and improve vendor performanceEnsures appropriate supply agreements are in place and guides internal teams how to monitor adherence to the terms of the agreementAligns with internal customers regarding best negotiation positions and provide stakeholders with a balanced view of contract risk and liabilitiesDirectly engages suppliers at the appropriate levels to influence the best outcome for Equinix that meets or exceeds the business requirementsUtilizes a global perspective in determining and executing on category strategyDevelops a vendor management strategy to reduce and consolidate global vendors for the categoryDevelops, communicates and executes against consistent global procurement strategies and best practicesEstablishes procurement goals, metrics, and work plans to meet operational objectivesContributes to spend category management strategies and action plansMonitors and maintains full industry and market knowledge of category, suppliers, best practices, competitive landscape, etc.Communicate and collaborate with all key stakeholders to ensure alignment of the overall strategyCommunicate and implement strategy effectively throughout the relevant teams Drives and delivers cost savings opportunities aligned with organization commitmentsManages regional/program/project RFx and support category initiatives as neededDevelops cost savings proposals and interacts closely with suppliers, and internal customers, to achieve the cost savingsCreates and maintains cost forecasts (reduction or increase) and cost-tracking for the categoryLeads the supplier management end-to-end processBuilds and maintains supplier relationships and drives improvement in the areas of cost, risk, and qualityIdentify and mitigate supplier risks in the areas of financial, capacity, location, single sole source, spend, and revenue, etc.Educates suppliers on the mechanics of doing business with EquinixIdentifies and resolves various supplier management problemsSupports selection of new suppliersActs as point of escalation for suppliers when neededResponsible for all relevant documentation execution including contract SOW signature, supplier certification including insurance & ISO documentsPartners with Legal on the contract lifecycleWorks with business partners to develop and agree SOW, business and commercial requirementsLeads vendor negotiations including business terms and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)Manages business requirements for Order Management & Delivery teamInitiates supplier creation in the Source to Pay systemsSupports Global Category Lead as needed Qualifications 7+ years of experience preferredBachelor's degree or equivalent experience requiredMaster's degree preferredEquinix is an Equal Employment Opportunity and, in the U.S., an Affirmative Action employer. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
