Date Posted: 08/01/2023 Closing Date: 09/05/2023 , 11:59PM ET Req ID: 33127 Job Category: Faculty - Clinical Faculty/Division: Temerty Faculty of Medicine Department: Dept of Medicine Hospital Affiliation: Unity Health Toronto - St. Michael's Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto) Description: The Departments of Medicine at St. Michael's Hospital and University of Toronto are seeking an academic cardiologist with advanced training in cardiac electrophysiology (EP) and who is an internationally recognized clinician-scientist with an established research program in the area of personalized medicine, focusing on next generation sequencing, computational modeling, and stem cell disease modeling and drug screening. This position will also support the large demands for cardiac EP procedure and participate in the educational programs in Cardiology at St. Michael’s Hospital and the University of Toronto. The successful candidate must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto and will be the recipient of an endowed Chair for a 5-year term, renewable once upon successful review. The expected start date is July 1, 2024, or shortly thereafter. The successful candidate will hold an MD degree and should have, or be eligible for, certification in Cardiology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). The successful candidate must have proven clinical excellence in cardiac electrophysiology, including complex (Afib) ablation, device (pacemaker, defibrillator) implantation and management, acute inpatient care and ambulatory care, and a strong track record in research including peer-reviewed grants and publications commensurate with their academic rank.
