The advancement database manager will support the constituent fundraising and engagement goals of the School through the management of the advancement office database (Raiser’s Edge/NXT). This position will manage processes for recording and acknowledging gifts promptly, producing accurate lists and analytical reports for various advancement projects, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the Raiser’s Edge/NXT database. This position reports to the assistant director of institutional advancement. The successful can​​didate must possess detailed knowledge of Raiser’s Edge, particularly focused on gift processing, reporting, and data analytics for capital, annual, and endowment giving. This individual will be a strategic partner and resident expert in leading both routine and complex data projects that support and advance the long-term goals of the department. This is an exempt, full time, ex 12-month position with the eligibility to start immediately, but preferably, no later than July 1, 2024. Nightingale is open to discussing hybrid and remote models for this role. All members of the advancement department must be able to work from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to): Support overall management of the Raiser’s Edge/NXT database, including updating constituent information, creating new records, and data cleanup Serve as the resident database architect—identifying, managing, and executing large-scale database projects that ensure the accuracy and consistency of data for effective reporting and analysis Enter all gifts and generate acknowledgements in a timely and consistent manner. Organize and maintain all gift paperwork (electronic filing system) Provide ongoing and routine support to the advancement team for standard and custom reports in Raiser’s Edge/NXT. This includes but is not limited to reports for the annual fund, capital campaigns, events, and alumnae relations Provide required reports to the business office for all gifts and pledges and assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations. This includes annual reporting requirements including CASE/NAIS’s DASL report and the school’s annual 990 Partner with advancement colleagues to provide data and visual representations of progress for use in Board reporting, both for full Board meetings and Institutional Advancement subcommittee meetings Enter gifts in real-time during the School’s two giving days, Giving Tuesday and Nightingale Gives Run periodic reports to support and inform team research and prospect identification efforts Ensure that constituent contact information is updated in Raiser’s Edge in a timely and accurate manner. In turn, collaborate with the business office, registrar, communications, and advancement teams to ensure that accurate information is entered across all database systems Manage the rollover of constituencies each fiscal year in collaboration with admissions, advancement, and the registrar Enter and track event registration throughout the year in the events module Prepare data and lists for the Annual Report Create and run campaign reports, including regular donor pipelines, campaign pyramids, and campaign trendlines. In turn, manage the upkeep of the Prospect Tab in Raiser’s Edge to support strategic campaign efforts Provide support for solicitation and broader advancement mailings throughout the year. Establish and maintain the policies and procedures manual for effective data management, documenting standards to further improve the efficiency and productivity of the advancement office While rare for this position, occasional event support is required on evenings and weekends. Reunion weekend, for example, is an all-hands-on-deck event. Other responsibilities as assigned by the assistant director of institutional advancement REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required A minimum of 7 years of database management experience and a minimum of 3 years of working Raiser’s Edge/NXT specifically Highly analytical and organized, with impeccable attention to detail Excellent project management and problem solving skills; the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects under varying deadlines with a commitment to accuracy Experience managing a database through a capital campaign or multi-year fundraising initiatives, including being responsible for comprehensive reporting related to those initiatives Ability to set and execute goals that align with the strategic vision of the department Possess a high level of initiative and creativity and the proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in a confidential and professional environment PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL CHARACTERISTICS A shared understanding of the mission of the School and a demonstrated commitment to the core principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion Must demonstrate cultural competence and be able to understand, appreciate, and work with constituents across varied backgrounds and cultures A keen interest in keeping up with current developments in database design and application Effective verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to communicate complex technical matters effectively Possess a sense of humor and appreciate this trait in others PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS School experience preferred, but not required Experience with wealth management systems SALARY I n compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000.
