The Global R&D Foods Principal Scientist will have accountability to lead consumer-centric understanding and product capability creation to enable a range of applications.Responsibilities * Drive an amplified consumer and human view into key Potato Chips programs through bringing clarity to what consumers value/ desire and translating that into critical product design parameters that define the desired consumer experience. * Deliver advantaged product solutions via applying/ integrating new capabilities developed by functions into the product/ formulation and identifying technology gaps and needs. * Led technical development of product formulations that leverages expertise in food chemistry and food ingredient functionality * Investigate and apply new technology to provide a competitive advantage * Provide technical risk assessment/perspectives related to new product development * Lead development for quality/product improvement initiatives. * Leverage external and internal experts for key ingredient, analytical and sensory research. * Participate as an active member in cross-functional teams comprised of individuals across Product and Process Function, Regions, Platform, Ingredient D&A and more. Compensation and Benefits: * The expected compensation range for this position is between $102,800 - $172,100 based on a full-time schedule. * Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary * Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually. * Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.* In addition to salary, PepsiCo offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees and their families, subject to elections and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Health and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Insurance (Accident, Group Legal, Life), Defined Contribution Retirement Plan.Qualifications * BS or greater in Food Science or related fields, MS or greater preferred * Minimum 6-8 years in a Food Company, based on degree level. * Strong consumer focus and demonstrated ability to work well in both qualitative and quantitative consumer research. * Proven ability to make significant technical scientific advances utilizing internal and/or external resources. * Demonstrated understanding of how to incorporate business needs into technical decisions. * The ability and interest to work in laboratory, pilot plant and manufacturing scale environments in a Food Company * Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into strategic and tactical project goals and objective * Proven ability to work in matrixed working environments to deliver both individuals and shared accountabilities for total program success. * Proven ability to manage multiple assignments/ tasks. * Strong communication skills (oral and written) * Experience with PowerPoint and presentation writing * Willingness to travelEEO StatementAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.
