WORK ILLUSTRATION: The Manager Project Field Execution is responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day field and safe execution of an outsourced portfolio of the organization’s capital and maintenance work program. S/he is accountable for working as part of a collaborative team to support the safe job planning and field work execution, provides technical and administrative guidance and management to the selected vendor during the pre-work and work execution stages of the projects, manages compliance with the contractor safety management program, and the monitoring of on-time, on cost completion of assigned work program in an efficient manner complying with applicable laws and policies, standard construction practices and work procedures. The incumbent is expected to behave ethically and follow the established code of business conduct, policies and internal control procedures, laws and regulations governing Toronto Hydro. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Manages and mitigates day-to-day construction issues in the field, including oversight of legal compliance, materials issues, quality issues, environment, health and safety concerns, and customer complaints • Manages employee safety, attendance and performance using organizational programs, standards and tools to support • Supervises and coaches certified and skilled trades employees, including apprentices to support the safe execution of the assigned work program • Provides technical guidance and management to selected contractors to manage the safe and cost- effective work completion of the assigned work program • Conducts safety inspections and safety audits • Leads safety meetings and resolves safety issues; identifies non-conformances and takes action to document, resolve and close gaps • Manages projects through conceptual design, construction and energization stage ensuring safety, timeliness, cost and quality targets are achieved • Ensures equipment installations in compliance with regulatory requirements;.
