Description:
Staff Accountant- Business Services will be responsible for performing complex Bookkeeping and Payroll/Employment Tax work and other strategic work related to Corporate & Individual Tax Planning including but not limited to the following: Preparing HNI/Complex Federal and State income tax returns of Corporate and Individual (US and Foreign) ensuring compliance with government tax rules Preparing and reviewing complex financial statements of corporates/partnerships/non-profits to ensure proper accounting classification; Assisting senior manager in Strategic Tax Planning for high net worth and small business clients; Assisting senior managers with tax controversies by researching tax issues and transactions; Assisting audits by the finalization of accounts and Income Tax returns Coordinating with clients/tax preparers on any unclear transactions during bookkeeping and bank reconciliation and updating senior managers on the current status of the books; Handling the payroll system and payroll-related issues for small clients; Reviewing quarterly employment tax forms such as 940, 941, and 944 and year-end W3, W2, 1099-Misc, 1096; Assisting the clients (including start-ups) with the incorporation of an entity including registration, tax planning, accounting, and licensing requirements; Preparing and reviewing FBAR report and IRS Amnesty Program paperwork, particularly OVD/OVDI disclosure programs. Requirements: Masters in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, and Business Administration with a concentration in accounting or a related field and one year of experience in accounting/taxation positions working with financial statements (bookkeeping and bank reconciliation), income tax returns for corporate/individual (US or Foreign) clients, OVDI/OVD, tax planning and incorporation of entities.
