J OB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLEAccounting ManagerREPORTS TOChief Financial Officer (CFO)DIRECT REPORTSAccounting Team to include, payroll specialist, AccountantFLSAExemptDPARTMENTAccounting POSITION SUMMARY: The experienced and hands-on Accounting Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting practices, preparation of all monthly end reports, and supervision of all accounting staff. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares accounting related entries to several databases (accounting and development) Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files Prepares all month-end closings Plans and prepares for the annual external audit and Form 990. The Accounting Manager is the primary contact for the external auditor. Supervision of A/P and P/R accounting staff QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting CPA certification preferred At least 2 full years of experience with extensive grant reporting, preferably with federal grants 5 years' experience and knowledge of non-profit accounting preferred JFS provides equal employment opportunities without regard to race, religion, ethnicity, age, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability and veteran status, except in the case of those positions in which religion is, in the opinion of JFS, an essential factor.
