We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of a Project Support Officer , on a 3-month contract , highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay : £14.00 per hour PAYE Summary: The post holder will support the Electoral Services team to deliver the Mayor of London and London Assembly Elections, taking place on 2 May 2024. The post holder will take responsibility for delivering key aspects of the planning and conduct of elections and the registration of electors, in accordance with project plans, being wholly accountable for the quality and outcome of the deliverables. The post holder will assist in providing a professional service to the public, elected representatives, local authorities and colleagues within the council on all matters relating to electoral registration and elections. The post holder will assist in the implementation of plans to raise levels of voter registration and engagement in the electoral process, and to implement immediate and long-term strategies to ensure the accuracy of the register of electors, as well as providing advice and support in respect of access to and the use of the data contained in the register of electors, in accordance with DPA and GDPR principles. Responsibilities: To take responsibility for agreed tasks during the delivery of elections and referendums, ensuring the effective running and management of electoral events within the borough. To work with colleagues to deliver elections and electoral registration as a team, showing initiative and collaborative working styles in order to deliver a coherent and cohesive service. To ensure compliance with statutory regulations, and comply with best practice as outlined by The Electoral Commission.
