Randstad C and P are actively recruting for a Senior Design Manager to lead on a prestigious highways project in Oxfordshire for an established, household contractor. The project is currently in inception phases, with multiple years remainnig on the scheme. Requirements: Extensive experience in highway or civil engineering design management, preferably on lhighways, heavy civils or major infrastructure projects. Strong technical background with a thorough understanding of highways design principles and standards. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Proficiency in design software and tools. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills. Responsibilities: Oversee the entire design process for the highways scheme, from conceptualization to implementation, ensuring compliance with project requirements and specifications. Manage a team of designers and engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship as needed throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including project managers, construction teams, and procurement specialists, to ensure seamless coordination and integration of design efforts with other project activities. Liaise with external stakeholders, such as clients, consultants, regulatory authorities, and utility providers, to gather input, address concerns, and facilitate approvals as necessary. Review and evaluate design deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and technical documents, to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to relevant standards and codes.
