Contract Type: Permanent, Variable Hours Location: Middlesborough, Teesside University International Study Centre Salary: Up to £32.28 per hour Teesside University International Study Centre is seeking an Engineering & Maths Tutor to join the Computing, Engineering and Science team. In this role, you will collaborate with colleagues to ensure the effective implementation of teaching programs in alignment with our teaching, learning, and backssment strategy, as well as broader goals for an exceptional student experience. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach some of the following modules: Fundamentals of Physics Engineering Practice Materials and Sustainability Structural Mechanics Engineering Maths Applied Maths Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics ABOUT THE ROLE Contribute to the design, delivery and development of modules offered. Prepare and deliver teaching lectures, seminars and tutorial sessions, up to 25 hours per week. Write and prepare unit examinations and other forms of formative and summative backssment. Mark students’ formative and summative backssment submissions and provide timely feedback to students on their performance, including tutorials and writing regular student reports. Develop and update course material for modules and teaching sessions, including module material for the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Work with the Centre’s administration team to plan and deliver induction, orientation and registration programmes. Track students’ academic journey and identify and implement appropriate intervention strategies to support ongoing learning. Implement quality assurance procedures at module and teaching session-level and contribute to the annual monitoring and review of courses. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students’ attendance and performance. ABOUT YOU A relevant degree (Essential), Master’s degree (Desirable) or Ph D (Desirable) in Engineering.
