Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities Uphold the necessary technical standards in all tasks performed. Stay well-versed in relevant design and evaluation methodologies. Generate estimates of man-hours and costs for fabrication and installation processes. Identify changes in scope and scheduling following the change control procedure. Possess expertise in overseeing disciplined designers and associated administrative tasks. Ensure that assigned work is executed within the agreed budget and timeline to the best of one's ability.
