Construction Laborer Job Summary Sentry Construction is seeking a full time construction laborer. This position will: Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials. May assist other craft workers. Job Duties and Responsibilities Duties may include but are not limited to performing physical labor in assistance with jobsite clean-up, rough carpentry, painting, and landscaping Assist management with labor tasks including installation of materials, shoveling, cleaning, or raking materials Assist with loading, unloading, and installation of project-related materials, tools, and equipment Apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, or other finishes to equipment, buildings, or other structures, using brushes, spray guns, or rollers. Fill cracks, holes, or joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives. Preparation of job site(s) to include ability to: cover surfaces with dropcloths, masking tape, plastic and/or paper to protect surfaces during painting/other construction. Read plans, instructions, or specifications to determine work activities Understands and adheres to all quality and safety standards Communicate effectively in emergency situations Requirements HSD or GED equivalent Minimum 5 years of general construction experience Experience in general construction, landscaping, and painting preferred Dependability and attention to detail and follow through is crucial Must provide own transportation and valid driver's license Must be able to pass a background check Occasional travel required Full time position (typically M-F) , with optional benefits; pay is commensurate with experience Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. Ability to carry heavy equipment (including but not limited to painting tools, power tools, landscaping equipment, and heavy buckets of paint) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, and stand for long durations of time.
