Department: Development Position: Database Manager and Analyst Reporting to: Director of Individual Giving Location: Washington, D.C. preferred (temporarily remote) The Database Manager and Analyst is responsible for managing the department's day-to-day donor operations processes and CRM system (EveryAction). This position will support cultivating a pipeline of donor prospects while identifying new opportunities for engaging and upgrading donors across all fundraising and cultivation channels. Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving, the Development Systems Manager and Senior Analyst has duties that include but are not limited to: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Lead all aspects of RAINN's EveryAction CRM data and development communications platforms. Train staff on use of the database and develop a comprehensive manual of best practices. Streamline donor data management, tracking, reporting, and overall data integrity while looking for efficiencies in practice. Manage financial documentation process for the development team while collaborating with the finance team on monthly reconciliations and the annual audit preparation. Track progress towards revenue goals and prepare regular reports for leadership. Collaborate with leadership to prepare data to implement digital campaigns, special projects and other development priorities as needed, including managing external contracts/vendors/consultants as assigned. Analyze donor behavior through multichannel efforts including online, mail, text message, one to one relationship building and suggest methods to improve results. Develop move management reports and processes, integrating prospect research and all donor contacts into the CRM. Pull lists and complete exports as needed based on complex criteria. Oversee all data entry to ensure it aligns with department goals and organizational needs. Perform regular data management activities including data scrubbing, appends, and upgrades. Use donor research tools like Wealth Engine to help identify best prospects for targeted marketing and relationship building and ensure that our data is kept up to date with any appends on demographic information. Lead efforts to segment our database based on self-identified interests for marketing. Lead budgeting and forecasting for the team. Build visual dashboards to communicate donation trends to leadership, board members and other interested parties. Manage fundraising registrations in each state along with the Development Associate to ensure we are complying, working with our compliance vendor. Work with the other teams in Development to ensure reporting and data analysis needs are met. All other duties as assigned. Position Specifications/Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required: Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required 3-5 years of donor data management and analysis experience required in a nonprofit organization Expertise with non-profit CRM software such as EveryAction, Luminate, Raiser's Edge or similar required (experience using EveryAction strongly preferred) Expertise with queries and segmentation including data manipulation skills in Excel Working knowledge of HTML preferred Experience with email marketing systems required Familiarity with donor prospecting tools Exceptional organizational and project management skills Excellent communications skills (written and verbal) Demonstrated attention to detail Understanding of revenue reporting and budget processes in nonprofits is required Ability to manage multiple deadlines and Highly creative, flexible, adaptable and a self-starter Discretion when dealing with sensitive information and ability to discuss issues surrounding sexual violence Must successfully complete a criminal background check (administered by RAINN) Upon hire, must provide proof of vaccination (COVID-19) Physical Activities The following physical activities described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
