Description:
The role of the Electrical Design Engineer is to plan and design projects, make changes to existing projects, Offer guidance to project managers, designers and draftsmen. The responsibilities of an Electrical Designer are: Complete electrical designs on small, medium and large projects Review and design per NEC requirements Make changes to existing projects Review BOM's for problems Check cable tray layouts and part numbers on PCI drawings Coordinate cable trays, HVAC duct and equipment busduct Generate electrical blocks Review customer/vendor equipment drawings and incorporate interconnects Offer advice and support to Project Managers, Draftsmen and Designers Maintain and update all project/contract documentation and schedules. Handle issues with damaged equipment, determining necessary actions to rectify problems. Issue engineering issue memo's to production Qualified candidates should possess the following: B.S. degree in technical area of study preferred 5 years experience working with Autocad Proficiency in Microsoft Project and software AutoCad/Solidworks and Microsoft Office Suite experience or training. Training in NEC, IEC and other electrical codes and regulations applicable to projects. Experience analyzing and designing power and control circuits, including MCC, switchgear, power transformers, distribution panels and transfer switches.
