My main contractor client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Manager to join their dynamic team in London. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing the design process for heritage projects, specifically listed buildings and Grade II structures. As a key member of their team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects from post: tender through to completion. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Lead and manage the design process for heritage projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards. Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop and refine design concepts. Oversee the production of detailed design documentation and drawings. Manage the design review process, addressing issues and ensuring timely resolution. Provide technical support to project teams during the construction phase. Coordinate with relevant authorities and heritage bodies to navigate the intricacies of working with listed buildings. Implement and enforce quality control procedures throughout the design and construction phases. Collaborate with the construction team to ensure seamless project delivery. Requirements: Proven experience as a Design Manager within a main contractor setting. Extensive experience working on heritage projects involving listed buildings and Grade II structures. In: depth understanding of the processes and challenges associated with heritage construction. Strong people management skills, with a proven ability to lead and motivate teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and subcontractors. Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards governing heritage projects. Track record of successfully managing the design process from post: tender to completion.
