About CASA CASA Mental Health is an established non-profit organization delivering holistic, culturally-safe wrap-around mental health services to Albertans and their families. CASA provides mental health service to the missing middle – mental health treatment for diagnosed children and youth, in between prevention and promotion in primary and community care, and acute treatment in hospital. CASA ’ s team of mental health professionals are trauma experts committed to delivering service in collaboration with community partners. This includes backssment and treatment for up to 4,000 children, youth and their families each year, from community outreach settings to intensive treatment programs. About the Role CASA House is a voluntary tertiary care residential program for youth in grades seven to 12, operating seven days a week. CASA House employs a multi-disciplinary team that works closely with the youth from a bio-psycho-social treatment approach, and utilizes a trauma-informed approach in all areas of programming. Adolescents who come to CASA House have complex needs, including severe mental health challenges, family dysfunction, school issues, peer related issues and social/economic challenges. Reporting to the Clinical Manager and working with the Nursing Professional Practice Lead, the Mental Health Nurse works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide and coordinate services for children, youth and families receiving mental health care from CASA. The Mental Health Nurse will: Provide nursing backssments and plans of care, including medication administration and monitoring, teaching, telephone follow-up and health promotion. Practice according to the code of ethics and practice standards of their specific professional college. Assist with individual or group therapy as directed when appropriate.
