LOGISTICS SPECIALIST The purpose of the Logistics Specialist role is to meet or exceed the customer's expectations by ensuring the project is delivered sooner than expected; in doing so, they must optimize packaging, routes, and choices of courier service levels to assist the team in achieving their daily objectives. During downtimes, the Logistics Specialist supports the Finishing & Fabrication department. Position Title : Logistics Specialist Employment Type : Full-time, hourly Location : Mississauga Shift: 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday Reports to : General Manager, Manager What you will be doing Plan, coordinate and carry out the safest, fastest and most economical method of delivery (driving, walking or using outside services) Operate the vehicle safely Maintain detailed delivery logs Complete reports and conduct inspections Interact professionally and positively with our Customers Maintain tracking numbers in the event that a package is not at its destination Maintain packaging and shipping supplies inventory to always be prepared for any last minute requests Skills that you bring. Unrestricted Ontario Drivers' License G 5+ years of driving experience with a full license 25 years of age and up (drivers only) Drivers' abstract for the past 5 years, with zero suspensions and no more than 1 moving violation Knowledge of the user interfaces for UPS, FEDEX, PUROLATOR and other shipping companies Basic use of PCs and the MS Office programs such as Excel, Word, and Power Point Ability to lift and carry 30lbs A desire to learn and back up other team members You are: Detail Oriented/Accurate - close attention to and review of work orders for accuracy and completeness, quality control Sense of Urgency - will enjoy working in a fast-paced deadline driven environment Reliable - ability to work at a consistent rate of productivity, punctual and a strong work ethic Coachable - open to feedback, able to collaborate and communicate with team members and customers,.
