Junior School Librarian Job Type: Part Time, Permanent (Term Time only) Location: Oxford Hours: 20 hours per week Salary: A GBP 12,619 per annum (Librarian role) A GBP 17,667 per annum (combined role), A GBP 29,844 per annum FTE The school was founded in 1480 by William of Waynflete and is one of the countrys leading independent day schools. It is situated in an enviable location at the heart of Oxford beside the River Cherwell. The school will celebrate its 550th anniversary in 2030. The current generation of MCS staff and pupils wish to ensure that they shape a School that is able to flourish for at least another half millennium, and hopefully many more beyond. There are around 970 pupils, boys 7:18 and Sixth Form Girls, and 300 staff who learn and work on the schools central Oxford site. The Role The school is seeking to appoint a Junior School Librarian from April 2024 (or September 2024) to enhance teaching and learning provision by the maintenance of an effective Junior School library service to pupils and staff. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a successful, thriving and friendly school, assisting and supporting staff and pupils in their everyday work. This is a part: time, term time only position of 20 hours per week. There is the possibility to combine this role with that of Partnership Co: ordinator (Arts and Humanities). The Partnership Co: ordinator (Arts and Humanities) will make a key contribution to the Schools aim of fostering a culture of service both within School and in the wider world, with a focus on educational partnership. They will play a key part in developing their links with the local community, with a particular focus on literacy projects with primary schools.
