Contract: Full time 48hr Wages: £32-40k pa Reporting to: Head chef We are seeking an experienced and talented Senior Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a Senior Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Head Chef in managing the overall operations of our kitchen. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation while leading and mentoring a team of culinary professionals. Responsibilities: - Culinary Leadership: Assist the Head Chef in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. Lead by example and set high culinary standards for the team. Ensure that all food is prepared and presented to the highest quality and in accordance with established recipes and standards. - Menu Development: Collaborate with the Senior kitchen team in menu planning, development, and innovation. Contribute ideas for new dishes, seasonal menus, and special promotions. Stay updated with emerging food trends and incorporate them into menu offerings to enhance the dining experience. - Team Management: Supervise and train a team of chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff. Delegate tasks, set performance expectations, and provide guidance and support. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and professional growth. - Quality Control: Ensure that all dishes leaving the kitchen meet our high-quality standards. Conduct regular inspections of food preparation areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, proper food handling, and cleanliness. Address any issues or concerns promptly to maintain consistency and guest satisfaction. - Cost Control: Assist the Executive Chef in managing food costs and inventory. Monitor portion control, minimize waste, and ensure accurate stock rotation.
