Currently, our growing team is looking for an Optometric Assistant who can work with us on a permanent part-time basis at our LMC Bayview location. This position requires 2 days of in-clinic work and 1 flexible day where work can be performed remotely. This position supports the optometry department which is a new service offering within our Bayview clinic. The success of the clinic could result in full-time employment down the road. Responsibilities: Greeting patients in person, by telephone, or online Booking/Scheduling appointments Making recalls and cold calls to book appointments Pretesting patients and other auxiliary tests Explaining procedures and costs to patients Check-in and check out patients in the clinic Facilitate patient referrals to other healthcare professionals Assisting in ordering contact lenses and other miscellaneous products Ensuring the office is billed properly for orders Requirements: High School or College Graduate Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills, friendly and caring, outgoing personality Customer service experience is essential Confidence in cold calling Must be proficient with computers and excel spreadsheets Able to follow directions and take personal responsibility for actions Must demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills Ability to work independently and in a team Passion for learning and dealing with people Able to follow through on tasks with attention to detail Able to multitask.
