Job Description Duration: 8 Months Positions Available: 1 Intake Date: Monday, May 6, 2024 Application Deadline: Monday, January 22, 2024 (we will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis) Minimum Qualifications: Must currently be enrolled in a recognized and accredited Canadian post-secondary institution throughout the duration of the co-op term. You must also be returning to a post-secondary institution after the co-op term is completed. Depending on the needs and location of the team, you will need to work PST or MDT or relocate to a specific office (Vancouver or site-based) Desired Background: For this exciting position, we are specifically targeting students who have a background in Finance or Accounting. Responsibilities Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Assist with audit and control activities including updates of Sox narratives Assist with cost accounting and sharing of cost information with operational departments Assist accounts payable and supply chain management departments with sales tax analysis Qualifications Working towards a post-secondary degree in Business, concentrating in either Accounting or Finance Ability to prioritize, work under pressure with minimal mentorship, and meet tight deadlines Ability to research complex tax issues Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate sophisticated ideas and concepts to multidisciplinary teams and external clients and contractors Outstanding financial skills, providing overall support to the Finance and other operating departments Proven understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point) Experience with Microsoft D365, Maximo, Share Point and Power BI is an asset Strong curiosity to understand finance in the mining industry.
